Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth
Smile Foundation a national level development organization directly benefiting over 4,00,000 children and their families, through 200 welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood, and woman empowerment, in more than 950 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
Along with its intensive welfare projects on the ground, Smile Foundation has also adopted the model of Civic Driven Change, under which it continuously strives to sensitize the privileged mass of the country so that they come forward, take on the social problems of the country as personal challenges and fight them back.
Smile Foundation has already produced more than 60 short films/documentaries including a feature film titled ‘I Am Kalam” which has won more than 30 International awards and 1 National Award. We have also produced a Child Rights Award-winning TV series “Choone Do Aasman” in association with NDTV. We have been also supporting & organizing festivals & workshops for CFSI like North East Film Festival, Meghalaya Festival, and All India School Programs.
Smile Foundation now envisions taking these efforts to the next level through SIFFCY so that this powerful medium can be explored in a more focused manner for disseminating serious yet effective social messages.
SIFFCY (Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth) is a special film platform devoted to a greater appreciation of meaningful cinemas made for children and youth which can bring change in the society by showcasing those films, supporting emerging filmmakers, recognizing the pioneers and leaders of the similar industry and by promoting the diverse perspectives of Good World Cinema. It caters to young people (aged 6 to 25) with just about every level of interest in film, whether to watch and enjoy, create their own work or take things a stage further and find out more about a career in the film or television industry.
The week-long annual Film Festival takes place at the Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi, India during December every year. It attracts filmmakers, artists, Industry professionals and audience members from across the globe.
